Appliance is locked.. ### Can I clear Descaling overdue. Appliance is locked. myself? On the 500 Series, press and hold menu for three seconds as the message asks, to reach the care cycle. ### Can a technician unlock my Bosch without descaling it? There is no point doing so; the lock exists because scale is building inside. Running the descale is the fix Bosch prescribes. ### How long does the descale take on a Bosch before it unlocks? Plan on about half an hour including the rinse, and keep a container and fresh water ready. On the BCM8450UC built-in, the descale step alone runs roughly 19 minutes. ### Does the Bosch BCM8450UC built-in lock the same way? It first shows a warning that the descale is overdue and that the machine will soon lock. Run the descale at that warning and it never reaches the lock. --- **[Read on the site: Bosch: Descaling overdue, appliance is locked](https://coffeemachinerepair.center/error-codes/bosch-descaling-overdue-appliance-locked/)** **[Book a visit with CoffeeMachineRepair.center](https://coffeemachinerepair.center/schedule/)**
