The TCM24 keeps count of what goes into the drip tray and grounds container and resets that count when it sees them removed. Emptied with the machine off, or put back wet and soiled, the trays still read as full. Thermador coffee machine display · also shown as Empty drip trays What to do when EMPTY DRIP TRAYS shows on the coffee machine ### Kind of code Grounds and drip tray The machine thinks the grounds container is full or missing, or the drip tray is full or out of place, and it will not brew until that changes. Most machines count the pucks rather than weigh them, so the message returns if the container is emptied while the power is off or put back too quickly. When it stays after a proper emptying, the tray contacts, the sensor or the counter on the board is checked at the visit. ### Usually leads to Coffee machine diagnostic visit A visit that brews and froths with you watching, reads the machine's own counters, then tests grinder, brew unit, pump and heater until one part is named. ### Shows up as What a Coffee Machine Error Code or Warning Symbol Means A coffee machine error code may show as a short string of letters and numbers, a flashing symbol for water, grounds or the brew unit, a short sentence on a text display, or a machine that stops with one light blinking. ### Make Thermador Thermador built-in coffee machines are diagnosed in the cabinet they sit in, starting with how the owner fills, cleans and empties the unit day to day. ### Source Thermador Coffee Machines – Troubleshooting page On Thermador's troubleshooting page and in the Use and Care Guides for the TCM24TS and TCM24PS. ## Before you book, in this order. Switch the coffee machine on. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why does my Thermador want the trays emptied every morning? If you empty them at night after switching off, the machine never sees it. Empty them after switching on and the count resets. ### Water keeps dripping inside my Thermador when I pull the tray. Is that normal? Thermador says to wait a few seconds after the last drink before removing the tray. Pulled too soon, it lets the last drips land on the inner floor. ### What does a technician check if the Thermador tray prompt never clears? A technician tests the tray detection inside the machine and the contacts the tray closes. Neither is reachable without opening the housing. --- **[Read on the site: Thermador: EMPTY DRIP TRAYS when they are already empty](https://coffeemachinerepair.center/error-codes/thermador-empty-drip-trays/)** **[Book a visit with CoffeeMachineRepair.center](https://coffeemachinerepair.center/schedule/)**
