The TCM24 has a sensor in the shelf under the milk container and asks before a milk drink if it detects nothing. Thermador's two causes are position and material: the container must sit at the right edge, and a carton or other jug may not register. Thermador coffee machine display · also shown as Milk container connected? What to do when MILK CONTAINER CONNECTED? shows on the coffee machine ### Kind of code Milk system The milk system could not draw, heat or foam the milk as it should: a tube pinched or not pushed fully onto its connector, a frother or valve clogged with dried milk, a skipped cleaning cycle, or a steam valve and seal that no longer hold. Taking the milk parts apart for a rinse where the manual allows, and running the milk cleaning cycle, clears most of it; steam hissing from the wrong place or a frother that stays cold is a visit. ### Usually leads to Coffee machine milk system repair Restoring the froth: the milk tube, the frother, the air inlet, the milk valve and the cleaning cycle that keeps them clear. ### Shows up as What a Coffee Machine Error Code or Warning Symbol Means A coffee machine error code may show as a short string of letters and numbers, a flashing symbol for water, grounds or the brew unit, a short sentence on a text display, or a machine that stops with one light blinking. ### Make Thermador Thermador built-in coffee machines are diagnosed in the cabinet they sit in, starting with how the owner fills, cleans and empties the unit day to day. ### Source Thermador Coffee Machines – Troubleshooting page On Thermador's troubleshooting page and in the TCM24PS Use and Care Guide; the stainless container is sold as an accessory for the TCM24. ## Before you book, in this order. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Slide the milk container against the right edge of its shelf. 02 If you use a carton or your own jug, answer YES on the screen to carry on. 03 If the supplied Thermador container at the right edge is still not seen, clean the shelf and book a visit if it persists. ### Still there? Slide the milk container against the right edge of its shelf. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Can I pour milk straight from the carton on my Thermador? Yes, with the suction tube in the carton, but the shelf sensor may not recognize it. Answer YES when the machine asks and it will make the drink. ### Why does my Thermador ask about the milk container before every latte? The container is probably sitting away from the right edge, where the sensor reads. Moving it over usually ends the question. ### Does this Thermador prompt mean the milk system needs cleaning? No. It is only about detecting the container. Thin or no froth is a different complaint that points to the milk tube, the outlet connections or scale. --- **[Read on the site: Thermador asks MILK CONTAINER CONNECTED? with the container in place](https://coffeemachinerepair.center/error-codes/thermador-milk-container-connected/)** **[Book a visit with CoffeeMachineRepair.center](https://coffeemachinerepair.center/schedule/)**
