Thermador tells owners of the TCM24 that this message means the incoming voltage is too high or too low, and sends them to the power company or an electrician. The built-in runs through a separate transformer, so the transformer and its connections are also on the list when the house supply checks out. Thermador coffee machine display · also shown as Overvoltage or undervoltage What to do when OVERVOLTAGE OR UNDERVOLTAGE shows on the coffee machine ### Kind of code Control board and power The electronics that read the keys and run the grinder, the pump and the heater have flagged a problem with themselves or with the power reaching them: a supply that dipped or spiked, a board that lost its settings after an outage, a display or touch panel that stopped answering, or a relay that stuck. One switch-off at the key or the breaker clears a passing glitch; a message that returns, or any hot smell, means the power stays off and a technician tests the board. ### Usually leads to Coffee machine control board repair Testing and replacing the power board, control board and touch panel of a coffee machine, and the sensors they read. ### Shows up as What a Coffee Machine Error Code or Warning Symbol Means A coffee machine error code may show as a short string of letters and numbers, a flashing symbol for water, grounds or the brew unit, a short sentence on a text display, or a machine that stops with one light blinking. ### Make Thermador Thermador built-in coffee machines are diagnosed in the cabinet they sit in, starting with how the owner fills, cleans and empties the unit day to day. ### Source Thermador Coffee Machines – Troubleshooting page On Thermador's troubleshooting page and in the TCM24PS Use and Care Guide; the TCM24 installation guide names the transformer type to be used. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Thermador's own guidance for OVERVOLTAGE OR UNDERVOLTAGE on its coffee machines. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Note whether other appliances or lights on the same circuit dim or flicker. 02 Have an electrician measure the dedicated outlet in the neighboring cabinet that feeds the coffee machine's transformer. 03 If the supply is in range and the message stays, book a visit. ### Still there? Note whether other appliances or lights on the same circuit dim or flicker. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Where is the transformer on a Thermador built-in coffee machine? In a mount inside the cabinet, behind the coffee machine. Its plug goes to a dedicated outlet in the cabinet next door, and that outlet is where the measurement starts. ### Can a generator or battery backup cause this Thermador message? Yes, if its output drifts outside the range the machine accepts. Try the machine again once the house is back on utility power. ### Should I plug my Thermador into a power strip to protect it? The installation instructions rule out extension cords, so plug the transformer straight into the wall outlet. --- **[Read on the site: Thermador coffee machine: OVERVOLTAGE OR UNDERVOLTAGE](https://coffeemachinerepair.center/error-codes/thermador-overvoltage-or-undervoltage/)** **[Book a visit with CoffeeMachineRepair.center](https://coffeemachinerepair.center/schedule/)**
