When a filter is registered in the menu, the TCM24 counts water and time and asks for a new one when the filter is spent, or after two months at the latest. It is a maintenance prompt and a small symbol stays at the top of the display until it is handled. Thermador coffee machine display · also shown as Replace water filter What to do when REPLACE WATER FILTER shows on the coffee machine ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure The machine is doing what it was set to do, not wearing out: a rinse that runs through the spouts at switch-on and switch-off, a descale or filter reminder counting the water that has passed through, an energy-save mode that darkens the screen after a quiet spell, or a demo mode left on from the showroom that lights the keys and pours nothing. No part is needed; finishing the cycle the display asks for, or a key sequence from the manual, ends it. ### Usually leads to No repair Fit a new Thermador filter, dipping it until no bubbles escape before pushing it into place. ### Shows up as What a Coffee Machine Error Code or Warning Symbol Means A coffee machine error code may show as a short string of letters and numbers, a flashing symbol for water, grounds or the brew unit, a short sentence on a text display, or a machine that stops with one light blinking. ### Make Thermador Thermador built-in coffee machines are diagnosed in the cabinet they sit in, starting with how the owner fills, cleans and empties the unit day to day. ### Source Thermador Coffee Machines – Troubleshooting page On Thermador's troubleshooting page and as a status symbol in the TCM24TS and TCM24PS Use and Care Guides. ## Before you book, in this order. Fit a new Thermador filter, dipping it until no bubbles escape before pushing it into place. ### My Thermador is plumbed to a whole-house softener. Do I need its filter? Thermador offers a softening device setting in the menu for homes with a softener. Set that and remove the filter in the menu if you decide to run without one. ### Why does my Thermador filter reminder come back so fast? The two-month limit applies even with light use. A household that drinks a lot will hit the water count sooner. ### Is a Thermador filter reminder a reason to book a visit? No. It is routine care. Book only if the reminder will not reset after a new filter is registered. --- **[Read on the site: Thermador: REPLACE WATER FILTER | CoffeeMachineRepair.center](https://coffeemachinerepair.center/error-codes/thermador-replace-water-filter/)** **[Book a visit with CoffeeMachineRepair.center](https://coffeemachinerepair.center/schedule/)**
