--- title: "Wolf FILL TANK: the EC24 water tank is empty or not seated" description: "What FILL TANK means on Wolf FILL TANK: the EC24 water tank is empty or not seateds, what to check before booking, and when it is not a failure at all." url: "https://coffeemachinerepair.center/error-codes/wolf-fill-tank/" --- # Wolf FILL TANK: the EC24 water tank is empty or not seated The EC24 has no water line; every drop comes from a removable tank at the front that holds up to 55 oz. ## What FILL TANK actually means. The EC24 has no water line; every drop comes from a removable tank at the front that holds up to 55 oz. The display asks for water when the level is low, and the same text appears if the tank is in but not seated, because the machine reads the tank as absent. Cold tap, filtered or bottled water all suit it. Wolf coffee machine display What to do when FILL TANK shows on the coffee machine ### Kind of code Water and tank The machine asked for water and did not get what it expected: the tank is empty, sits off its seat or has a float the sensor cannot see, air is trapped in the line, or the flowmeter counted too little water passing in the time allowed. On a plumbed unit the same message can mean a closed shutoff, a kinked supply hose or a clogged inlet valve. Reseating a full tank and running a rinse clears the simple cases; a pump that hums with nothing moving is a visit. ### Usually leads to Coffee machine pump repair Testing and replacing the pump that drives water through the coffee, with the flowmeter that counts each cup and the valves beside it. ### Shows up as What a Coffee Machine Error Code or Warning Symbol Means A coffee machine error code may show as a short string of letters and numbers, a flashing symbol for water, grounds or the brew unit, a short sentence on a text display, or a machine that stops with one light blinking. ### Make Wolf A Wolf built-in coffee system gets a technician at your home, and the appointment note records whether it runs on a tank or a water line. ### Source Wolf answer: EC24 shows Fill Tank Wolf EC24 (EC24/B and EC24/S). The EC2450 and EC3050 keep the tank behind the service door and prompt on the touchscreen. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Wolf's own guidance for FILL TANK on its coffee machines. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Pull the tank straight out from beside the coffee spout and fill it with cold water up to the max line. 02 Slide it back in firmly until it seats, then watch the display. 03 Rinse the tank if it has film inside, since residue can keep it from reading correctly. 04 If a full tank pushed fully home still gets FILL TANK, book a visit. ### Still there? It usually turns into [coffee machine pump repair](https://coffeemachinerepair.center/services/coffee-machine-pump-repair/). Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do FILL TANK does not mean the EC24 can be switched to a water line; Wolf says it cannot be connected to one. It is also separate from EMPTY CIRCUIT FILL CIRCUIT, which is air in the pipework after the tank. ## What you may notice with it. The coffee machine problems FILL TANK tends to arrive with. Pull the tank straight out from beside the coffee spout and fill it with cold water up to the max line. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### How much water does the Wolf EC24 tank hold? Up to 55 oz to the max line. It is filled by hand from the front, right of the coffee spout. ### Can I use reverse osmosis or distilled water in my Wolf coffee system? Wolf allows both. With distilled water, set the water hardness to the lowest level so descale reminders are not triggered too often. ### My Wolf tank is full but FILL TANK will not clear. Is the tank broken? First pull it out and push it back in firmly; a tank that is not fully home reads as missing. If that does not help, the sensing inside the unit needs a look. --- **[Read on the site: Wolf FILL TANK: the EC24 water tank is empty or not seated](https://coffeemachinerepair.center/error-codes/wolf-fill-tank/)** **[Book a visit with CoffeeMachineRepair.center](https://coffeemachinerepair.center/schedule/)**
