What CLOSE DOOR
actually means.

The service door on the EC24 covers the infuser, drip tray and grounds container, and a small tab on the door presses a microswitch when it shuts. Until that switch closes, the coffee system refuses to run. Most of the time something is holding the door a fraction open; less often the tab has broken or the switch circuit has failed.

What to do when CLOSE DOOR shows on the coffee machine

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Wolf's own guidance for CLOSE DOOR on its coffee machines. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Open the service door fully and look for a grounds container, drip tray or stray puck sitting proud and stopping it.

02

Reseat the tray and container, then shut the door firmly and watch whether the message clears.

03

Look at the small tab on the inside of the door; if it is cracked or missing, stop there.

04

If the door is shut, nothing is in the way and CLOSE DOOR stays up, book a visit for the door switch.

What not to do

CLOSE DOOR has nothing to do with the cabinet door or the unit's position on its rails. A grounds bin that is missing, rather than a door left ajar, gets its own INSERT GROUNDS CONTAINER message.

What you may
notice with it.

The coffee machine problems CLOSE DOOR tends to arrive with. Answer these at the coffee machine before anyone is booked.

Questions
about CLOSE DOOR.

Can I clear CLOSE DOOR myself?
Open the service door fully and look for a grounds container, drip tray or stray puck sitting proud and stopping it. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
My Wolf EC24 service door looks shut but still says CLOSE DOOR. What now?
Open it again and check that the drip tray and grounds container are pushed all the way in, since either one can hold the door off its switch. If everything is seated and the message stays, the door tab or its switch needs replacing.
Can a broken tab on the Wolf service door be glued?
We do not recommend it. The tab has to press the switch the same way every time, and a glued tab tends to shift; a replacement door part is the lasting fix.
Will my Wolf coffee system make hot water with CLOSE DOOR showing?
No. The machine holds every drink until the door switch reports the door closed.

Back to your everyday

Still showing CLOSE DOOR?

Three things make the booking useful: the message or number exactly as the display showed it, the full model number from the plate, and whether the machine still grinds and pours at all. Send those and the likely part can be looked up before the van leaves.
