JennAir coffee machines,
specifically.

JennAir's coffee machine is a 24-inch built-in coffee system that sits flush with the cabinets and slides forward on handles for beans and supplies, sold as the Rise JJB6424HL, the Noir JJB6424HM and the earlier Euro-Style JBC7624BS. It runs from a reservoir with no plumbing. JennAir's US site no longer lists a coffee system for sale, but its help pages still cover these machines, and we repair them.

JennAir builds 1 of the 4 coffee machine types this site covers. Which one decides how the visit is planned.

What is particular
to JennAir.

We work on the JJB6424HL (Rise) and JJB6424HM (Noir) built-in coffee systems and the older JBC7624BS Euro-Style unit. All three are 24 inches wide, tank-fed, and use the same message set, so one visit covers the common repairs across them.

A hidden main switch and a self-test

The JennAir hides its main On/Off switch on the right flank, which you only see with the unit slid out, plus an On/Standby button by the spout for daily use. Every time the main switch goes on, the machine runs SELF DIAGNOSIS and drops to standby, which owners often mistake for a dead unit.

A red float in the drip tray

JennAir fits the drip tray with a red float that rises as the tray fills, and it should be emptied before the float pokes out of the cup tray. An overflowing tray can damage the machine, so a wet cabinet floor under a JennAir often starts here.

Seven grind steps that move only while grinding

The metal burr grinder has seven settings, from 1 for fine to 7 for coarse, and its knob turns only while the grinder is running. JennAir says the change shows after two cups, so we make test cups before calling a grind complaint a grinder repair.

Supplies stored inside the unit

JennAir built concealed shelves into the coffee system for coffee supplies, and the rating label is on the left side, visible once the unit slides forward. We read that label before ordering any part, since three model numbers share the platform.

Parts

Because JennAir has stopped listing the coffee system, we match every part to the rating label on the unit's left side and confirm it can be had before a repair is booked. Milk container parts, spouts and seals are the usual stock items.

Repair or replace

With no current JennAir replacement in the same opening, repair is usually the practical path for a brewing unit, grinder, seal or milk system problem. A failed main board on an older unit is where comparing repair with a built-in coffee system from another make is worth doing.

Questions about
JennAir coffee machines.

Does JennAir still sell a built-in coffee system?
Its US site no longer shows one: a search for coffee systems there returns no products. JennAir's help pages still support the Rise and Noir models, and we service them.
Why did my JennAir coffee system go dark right after I turned it on?
After the main switch goes on, it runs SELF DIAGNOSIS, a preheat and a rinse, then drops to standby. Press On/Standby beside the coffee spout to wake it.
Where is the model number on a JennAir built-in coffee system?
On a label on the left side of the unit. Slide the coffee system forward by its handles to see it.
Why is there puffing steam from my JennAir when it is not in use?
JennAir says small puffs and noises after switching on or off come from condensation dripping into the hot vaporizer. It is normal and means the machine is ready.
What milk works best in a JennAir coffee system?
Cold skim or 2% milk. Move the lid pointer toward Cappuccino for thicker froth or toward Caffelatte for lighter froth.
