What is particular
to Jura.

Jura's current US lineup is countertop only: ENA 4 and ENA 8, C3 and C9, E4 to E10, S8, J8 and J10 twin, Z10 and GIGA 10. The model name on the machine tells us which manual, milk system and filter it uses.

The grounds counter resets only one way

A Jura counts the portions of used coffee rather than weighing the container. Jura says to empty the grounds container with the machine switched on, because that is the only way the counter resets, and emptying it with the power off leaves the message coming back.

A filter that replaces descaling

With a CLEARYL Smart+ cartridge in the tank, an E8 stops asking to be descaled and asks for a new filter instead once the cartridge is used up. A machine run without the cartridge, or with the wrong water hardness setting, is the one that scales up.

Cleaning is counted in drinks and rinses

The E8 asks to be cleaned after 180 preparations or 80 switch-on rinses, using a Jura cleaning tablet. The program pauses partway and waits for the tablet, which owners sometimes read as a stall.

Cold storage blocks the heater

A Jura left in a cold garage, car or unheated house can show ERROR 2 or ERROR 5, because heating is disabled for safety after long cold exposure. Jura's remedy is simply to let it warm to room temperature first.

Parts

Filters, cleaning and descaling tablets, milk pipes and frother parts are consumables owners replace themselves. Grinders, pumps, heaters and boards are ordered by the model and serial number once the cause is found on the visit.

Repair or replace

A Jura with a loud grinder, a weak pump or a heating error is usually worth repairing, especially on the higher lines. On an older entry model where the board and grinder both need replacing, comparing a new machine makes sense.

Why does my Jura only drip coffee into the cup?
Jura names two causes: beans ground too fine are blocking the system, or the water hardness was set wrong and scale has built up. Turn the grinder to a coarser setting, and run descaling if the machine is not using a filter. If the drip continues, book a visit.
Why is there dry ground coffee behind the grounds container of my Jura?
The beans you are using make more grounds than average. Jura suggests a lower coffee strength or a finer grind setting, and wiping the loose grounds out when you empty the container.
My Jura grinder suddenly sounds very loud. What should I do?
Jura links a very loud grinder to foreign objects in it. Stop making coffee and book a visit, because running it on can damage the burrs.
